Also, saving the game on MAP04 and MAP06 will overrun the buffer and crash DOOM2. PC gamers who use one of the source ports (such as Legacy, Boom, PrBoom, or MBF) instead of the doom2.exe will experience none of these problems. These engines can be downloaded from Doomworld. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU USE ONE OF THESE ENGINES INSTEAD OF DOOM2.EXE! *Story* You knew something was wrong the minute you stepped into the lobby. You could feel it, but you tried to ignore the knot in your stomach as you went up the stairs. The night before, you had received a cryptic message from Allied Agent 17 asking you to meet him in Room 123 at the Hotel de la Mort in Paris. He had obtained information on a secret Nazi plan codenamed Operation: Rheingold, a plan Allied Command doesn't know about. It was extremely important, he said, that you meet with him as soon as possible. He was sure he was being tracked by the Gestapo, but he hoped he had shaken them off his tail long enough to pass the information along to you. Thanks to your years of undercover work, you snuck into the hotel undetected -- or so you thought. There was no answer when you knocked on the door of Room 123, and the fact that the door wasn't locked set off alarms in your head. Your fingers tightening on the .45 in your pocket, you slowly opened the door and stepped into the room. At first glance, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but then you heard the sound of dripping water coming from the bathroom. Pulling your gun out into the open, you opened the bathroom door -- and there was Agent 17, lying in a pool of his own blood in front of the bathtub. Before you could react, voices started shouting in German out in the hallway, and you realized the Gestapo had caught up with Agent 17 and set a trap for you! So begins Operation: Rheingold, a pulse-pounding WolfenDOOM adventure that leads you on a thrilling chase across Europe, from a Paris hotel to a mountaintop military installation in the Bavarian Alps, as you try to evade the Gestapo and find out just what Operation: Rheingold actually is. Even if you find out, can you do anything to stop the Nazis from unleashing it on the world? *Copyright/Permissions* Authors may not use this level as a base to build additional levels.
