=========================================================================== Archive Maintainer : Hey Bill and/or Eric! You guys hold this community together; it's incredible that only two people are able to maintain all of this, I don't know how you guys do it. I hope that I've interpreted this form correctly and that you accept my wad! Advanced engine needed : ZDoom or GZDoom (ZDoom is the better choice) Primary purpose : Single play =========================================================================== Title : Killjoy Filename : kjalpha6.wad Release date : August 13th, 2024 Author : whistlerDJC Email Address : whistlerDJC@gmail.com Other Files By Author : None Misc. Author Info : This is the first wad I've ever released, I hope it's at least decent. Description : This wad is an experiment. You see, I love slaugher maps, but unfortunately, often the only weapons that have a place in slaughter maps are the Rocket Launcher and BFG, and occasionally the plasma, leaving the SSG, Shotgun, Chaingun, Pistol, Fist, and Chainsaw totally out of the picture, and I hate to see them all (especially the SSG) gather dust. To my knowledge, this wad will be the first to experiment with a concept like this, the only other coming close being some of Doomkid's community wads Rowdy Rudy and Ray Mohawk. However, it seems to me that those wads didn't really lean into the slaughter potential of the modified weapons (Althought I haven't played too much of either of those, I just watched the Dean of Doom episodes.) As I said, this wad is really an experiment, and I want to see what the community thinks of the maps before I put years of work into creating a megawad that nobody likes. I will likely update the wad in the future, maybe even adding new maps (the Plasma Rifle, BFG, and Chainsaw aren't even in any of the maps lol) depending on the feedback I get, and also the fact that some of the maps are slightly scuffed right now. I calibrated the ultra violence enemies to be "very hard but fair," though that may be just the fact that I know exactly how the maps work, so it could be incredibly difficult to beat on ultra violence, I'm not sure. Some of it is very hard for me to do. Enemies are different for lower difficulty settings, but as with everything else, it might not be calibrated well. Hell, even the files are probably screwy. Some of you more technically minded players might look at it in SLADE and wonder how it's even running. All in all though, I hope it works, and I hope you enjoy it. Additionally, you can check out the bottom of this file to see the specific changes to the weapons. Additional Credits to : Textures Sourced from Pina Colada, cc4-tex, GOTHICTX, and OTEX.
