***************************************************** ****************The Biovite Project**************** ************---------------------------********** *********- A Partial Conversion for ZDoom -******** ***************************************************** ============================================================================== Title : The Biovite Project v5.0 Release Date : 18 December 2007 Author : Milian E-mail Address : [redacted] Other Files by Author : The Zodiac Deathmatch (Second Edition) (zodiac2e.wad) The Nutty Wad (nutty.wad) Nutty" (nutty2.wad) Dawn of the Undead (undeaddm.wad) Misc Author Info : Please visit my homepage http://www.milianmusik.de/doom Additional Credits : First of all: Martin for his big help with all the monster sprites. Thanks for all the fish, Martin! All my Doom friends for testing and their helpful comments. Special thanks for testing and discovering some bugs go to Vajje, Stew, angelus_04 and Belial. Danhen, Stew, Shark and Chip for their patience with the final test. The people who helped me with all the small problems in the ZDoom forums, especially to Graf Zahl, who cleared a bad bug in map 05. This wad contains some resources from other wads: - Tree sprites from grove.wad by B.P.R.D. - An ambient sound from contain.wad by J.C. Bengtson - Two texture patches (the rocks in outdoor areas and the fences in Map 01) from which I couldn't find out the origin - A lot of textures from various sources, mainly from PlanetQuake - One room in map 05 was originally taken by Maghq34-zombie2.wad, but I've slightly rebuilt and completely retextured it. Description : The Biovite Project is a partial conversion. It contains five maps, plus new graphics, new sounds, new music and new monsters. It's Single Player only. This wad needs a current version of ZDoom (2.1.x). It is meant to be played with jumping disabled. If you got stuck somewhere or need help or further information, have a look at http://www.milianmusik.de/doom You'll notice, that the maps are becoming better in quality from map to map. This is because Biovite is a longterm project and my mapping skills are still growing. There's a difference of 3 1/2 years between starting of map 01 and finishing of map 05. I'm highly interested in your demos. Feel free to send them to the abovementioned adress. Thanks! ============================================================================== Story: "The authorities did recieve several hints, that scientists of the company "Biovite Engineering" had passed over the border to illegality with their biological and genetic experiments. However, former official investigations and examinations didn't detect any evidence of illegal processes. But things have changed, after a former employee of the company revealed some details. A special unit has been instituted immediatly. If the witness' statements are true, what's going on behind the walls of Biovite is not only illegal but highly dangerous and threatening! On a rainy afternoon, you're instructed to pay a visit to Biovite and to reveal and, if necessary, defang the secret of the Biovite Project..." ============================================================================== * Play Information * Maps # : 01 - 05 Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : No Deathmatch 2-4 Player : No Difficulty Settings : Yes New Sounds : Yes New Graphics : Yes New Monsters : Yes New Music : Yes Demos Replaced : No Ports required : ZDoom 2.1.x or higher * Construction * Base : New levels from scratch Build Time : 6 months for each map Editor(s) used : Doombuilder Other Utilities : Wintex, XWE, Photoshop, Blender Known Bugs : None. Note that in Maps 02 and 04, there are monsters (fishes in an aquarium) that can't be killed. They are decoration only. The finish of Map 02 and parts of Map 03, a greenhouse, tend to slow down the engine a bit due to many things and details. In case you find a bug, don't hesitate to report it, so I can fix it in future versions.
